How Much Does an Epoxy Floor Cost in Ghana?

“How much does an epoxy floor cost in Ghana?” It is the first thing almost every caller asks, and we understand why — you need a number to plan. So here is the honest answer, given plainly: an epoxy floor is quoted on survey, and any firm that gives you a fixed per-square-metre rate before seeing your slab is guessing. We would rather lose the enquiry than hand you a number we cannot stand behind.
That is not an evasion. It is the most useful thing we can tell you, because the reason there is no fixed rate is the same reason cheap floors fail.
Why There Is No Fixed Rate
An epoxy floor is a system engineered to your slab, not a product sold by the metre. The same hall can carry very different prices depending on what the concrete underneath is doing. The cost is set by four things we can only assess in person:
- The system and film build — a single high-build coating costs less than a broadcast/quartz mortar body, which costs less than a chemical-resistant or ESD system. Your duty cycle decides which you need.
- Slab condition and moisture — a sound, dry slab needs a standard primer; a slab reading high on ASTM F2170 or ASTM F1869 needs a vapour-suppression primer, and a cracked or contaminated slab needs repair. This is the biggest swing.
- Area and access — large open bays are efficient; many small rooms, tight access and out-of-hours working add labour.
- Specification — slip rating to EN 16165, hygiene, chemical resistance and ESD each change the build.

The Trap of the “Cheap” Quote
Because clients want a low number, some quotes are engineered to look low — by quietly removing the parts you cannot see. The first thing to go is almost always moisture testing and remediation. In Ghana’s 81–83% humidity, a floor laid without an ASTM F2170/F1869 test over a damp slab blisters within months. The “saving” becomes a full re-do, plus the downtime of doing it twice.
A lower-priced quote is not automatically wrong — but it is always worth asking what slab preparation and moisture testing it includes. If those line items are missing, the price is not lower; the bill is just deferred.
